Coastal Apartment Refresh with Timeless Appeal
This renovation was completed for a retired couple who divide their time between enjoying the apartment during the warmer months and renting it out for part of the year. While the unit was already in relatively good condition, it had become dated and was ready for a fresh new look that would enhance both its appeal and functionality without requiring a complete renovation.
The focus of the project was to breathe new life into the apartment while retaining its existing footprint. The kitchen underwent a full renovation, maintaining its original size and layout but incorporating several practical improvements to make the space more user-friendly. New Polytec cabinetry, quality tapware and Caesarstone benchtops transformed the heart of the home into a stylish and functional space. A slightly blue-toned benchtop selection introduced a relaxed coastal feel, perfectly suited to the apartment’s beachside surroundings.
The bathrooms received a tasteful refresh, with semi-frameless shower screens replaced by sleek frameless screens and new vanities installed complete with updated basins, tapware and benchtops. Throughout the apartment, all flooring was replaced, featuring Ascoli Travertine Crosscut Bianco tiles through the living areas, hallway, study and kitchen, complemented by Godfrey Hirst carpet in the bedrooms. The neutral flooring palette was carefully chosen to harmonise with both the coastal environment and the building’s existing character.
Additional works included replacing all internal doors, which had deteriorated over time, along with painting where required. The result is a light, modern and welcoming apartment that feels completely revitalised while remaining practical, durable and perfectly suited to both holiday living and rental accommodation.
