This home transformation, evolving from 1980s nostalgia to modern coastal chic, stands as a testament to meticulous planning and seamless collaboration. Originally built in the early '80s, the property underwent a complete makeover, with only the external brick walls and roof remaining from the original structure.

The clients, a professional couple in their early 40s, wanted a trusted renovation builder to deliver their dream weekender within a tight timeframe. Their vision was clear: a modern coastal aesthetic that combined sophistication with the relaxed feel of a beach house retreat.

The renovation focused on creating a spacious open-plan family, living, and dining area designed to capture the spectacular bay views. Marinda, the visionary homeowner, brought her impeccable eye for detail to the project, favouring soft, neutral tones and a clean modern aesthetic. To maintain budget efficiency while achieving the open-plan concept, we made a strategic decision to preserve the existing roof and external brickwork.

The journey was filled with memorable moments, thanks to the collaborative spirit of Marinda and Johan. Their professionalism, clear communication, and Marinda’s organisational skills ensured a smooth process from start to finish. Design discussions, often held via Facetime, added an element of fun as we fine-tuned layouts, colours, and finishes.
