A Complete Transformation in Palm Cove
The vision for this spectacular renovation began in 2020 when we were initially contacted to transform a Palm Cove holiday home. With family scattered across Australia, the vision was to create a stunning coastal retreat where three generations of family could gather comfortably. Thanks to Covid and associated lockdowns, the building design process took longer than expected but we adapted and managed each hurdle with mutual patience and understanding.
Included in this project brief was an upper-level extension with two new bedrooms complete with an ensuite and a private balcony each, joined by a shared living area, along with a full kitchen renovation, multiple bathroom upgrades, new flooring throughout, and a complete refresh inside and out.
Following several rounds of quoting and design refinements, the family committed to the original ambitious plan. Construction commenced in late 2023, perfectly timed with the tropical wet season. Thanks to meticulous planning, including building the new roof above the old before removal, we successfully navigated Cairns’ worst-ever flood without cost or schedule impacts.
The finished home is nothing short of breathtaking. Upstairs now features two beautiful new bedrooms, each with its own ensuite and a shared balcony overlooking the lush surroundings. The kitchen shines with premium appliances and stunning finishes, while bathrooms showcase luxurious details and clever design. Every space has been refreshed with new flooring, windows, doors, and a complete repaint, creating a seamless flow from indoors to the revitalised poolside patio.
Despite logistical challenges, the project was delivered on time and on budget. The family has shared their delight with the result and the smooth journey, even from afar. For us, seeing this family create lasting memories in a home that truly reflects its tropical setting is the ultimate reward.
