A Family Home Reimagined in Redlynch
A Family Home Reimagined in Redlynch
This renovation was for a young, energetic family running their own business and raising two primary school-aged kids. Their home in Redlynch was a typical single-level split-block build, solid but tired, and increasingly impractical for a growing family. The kitchen and master bedroom were cramped, the dining area doubled as a walkway, and the laundry could only be accessed through a bedroom. It was time for a major rethink.
With the Cairns property market booming, the family chose to renovate rather than relocate. They had previously spent considerable time and money with another company but felt unheard and the project was going over budget. When they came to us, their goal was clear: to improve the function and flow of their home, create more space in the living and master bedroom areas, and do it all within a realistic budget.
We extended the home from the kitchen into the patio area, creating a bright and open cooking zone. A second extension to the front redefined the entryway, while a complete internal renovation transformed every room. We introduced a new hallway with cabinetry, redesigned the bathrooms and laundry for better access, and finished with a full internal and external repaint.
Instead of a full reconfiguration, we worked smartly with the existing structure and services to save costs while enhancing functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design embraced deep, warm timber tones, rich forest greens, and warm natural finishes, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. The Silhouette Channel feature wall and beautifully tiled bathrooms are standout highlights.
After nearly two years from first contact to completion, this transformation reflects not just craftsmanship but trust, collaboration, and patience. A project that perfectly captures the essence of a family home reimagined for modern living.
