Meet Matt Braby: Your Local Builder
Smith & Sons Doncaster and Eltham is a family-owned business led by Matt Braby. A local Eltham resident and qualified carpenter, Matt brings over 30 years of building experience and a genuine passion for his community to every project.
His journey began as an apprentice, where he built a foundation of hands-on skills before moving into insurance repairs, estimating, and project management. Over the last 16 years as a licensed builder, Matt has successfully delivered more than 120 major renovations and knock-down rebuilds. This deep technical background means he knows exactly what it takes to get a job done right.

Matt’s philosophy is simple: he treats every renovation as if it were his own home. Because he has completed several personal renovations, he understands the emotional and financial weight of a build.
